Privacy Policy for Comply – LUCID / VerpackG Export

Comply helps Shopify merchants comply with the German Packaging Act (Verpackungsgesetz / VerpackG) and EU PPWR by calculating packaging weight and generating LUCID CSV exports for the Zentrale Stelle.

1. Overview

This policy describes how Comply handles data. We are committed to privacy by design: we do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to external servers.

2. Data Collection & Use

Comply processes data locally inside your Shopify store:

Order count: Used only to calculate total packaging weight (e.g., 0.2 kg per order).
Packaging rules: You define material (e.g., Karton/Papier) and weight per shipment. These rules are stored in Shopify's own secure storage.
CSV Export: The LUCID report is generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. We do not retain a copy.

We do NOT access, collect or store:

Customer personal data (names, emails, addresses)
Payment information
Product content or inventory beyond order count
Tracking or analytics data

3. Data Storage

All packaging rules are stored using Shopify's app data storage (metafields / app data). No data leaves Shopify's infrastructure except the CSV file you explicitly download.

4. Third Parties

Comply does not share any merchant or customer data with third parties, analytics providers, advertising networks, or external databases.

5. Cookies & Tracking

Comply does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any tracking technologies.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since no personal data is stored externally, there is nothing to delete on our servers. When you uninstall the app, all associated packaging rules stored in your Shopify store are automatically removed via Shopify's uninstall webhook.
